Tigers back at .500

NEW ALBANY

Behind solid pitching, and timely hits, Crothersville topped Christian Academy of Indiana 6-1 Thursday.

The Tigers (2-2) scored a pair of runs in the first before both teams went for four straight scoreless innings.

Crothersville outscored CAI 4-1 in runs in the sixth inning before closing out the game.

Carson Farmer led the Tigers with two hits while Logan Brewer had two RBI. Six different Tigers had a hit on the afternoon.

Brewer picked up the win on the mound, going 6.1 innings with 10 strikeouts, six hits, two walks, and one earned run.

The Tigers go to South Central today for a Southern Athletic Conference game.

Braves lose in MSC

SCOTTSBURG

Brownstown Central scored a single run in the second and sixth innings, but lost 15-2 in Mid-Southern Conference action at Scottsburg Thursday.

The game was called in the sixth inning because of the run rule.

Riley Pool hit a grand slam home run in the sixth inning, and had eight RBIs for the Warriors.

The Braves managed only one hit, by Rehgan Stuckwisch, and she scored one run. Kyra Huffman had a walk and an RBI, and Kasity Taggart had two stolen bases and scored the Braves’ other run.

The Braves (1-2 MSC, 2-7) will play at Orleans today.
