The Cougars hosted senior night on Thursday, welcoming Jac-Cen-Del, Milan and Shawe Memorial on campus.

Jacob Rowe was champion in the 300 hurdles (47.68)  while his brother, Josh, took first place in the discus with a heave of 106-feet, 4 1/2-inches.

In the relays, Trinity won the 4×800 (9:47) and 4×100 (48.53) events.

Trinity’s girls team scored 33 points for third place. Milan won the meet with 87 points, Jac-Cen-Del was second at 84 and Shawe totaled 18 for last.

Hannah Sabotin won the 400 in 1:10.15 and was runner-up in the 100 by timing 14.3. Teammate Savanna Setty was third in the 100 (14.85) and also third in the long jump (12-6).

Cougars senior Rachel Onken tossed 25-7 in the shot put for third and 77-0 1/2 for third in the discus.

“Overall, we weren’t too bad,” Trinity coach Caleb Tormoehlen. “A.J. and Tyler Goecker, Reid Kruse and Savanna Setty looked good. All-in-all, it went pretty well.”

Prior to the meet, Setty, Onken, Jacob Rowe, Nathan Thomack and Jacob Crockettt were honored for senior night.

“It’s bittersweet,” Tormoehlen said. “I’ve been with (the seniors) since they were freshmen. They’ve made some very big strides the past couple years.”

Trinity will next compete at the Salem Invitational on Thursday.

“As the sectional gets closer, I’m seeing more things I like,” Tormoehlen said. “The freshmen are really starting to hit their strides. We have a little ways to go, but I like where we are.”
