Apartment fire reported in Crothersville, US 31 to close near scene

The fire has been put out and all residents have been accounted for at Village Apartments in Crothersville.

The fire at Village Apartments in Crothersville has been contained, according to dispatchers. All people that were in the building have been accounted for, and police will be reopening one lane of U.S. 31 within the next five minutes.

The Salvation Army has been called to respond to help with housing of residents displaced from a fire that broke out in the Village Apartments Monday morning in Crothersville.

Multiple agencies are responding to a fire at Village Apartments, 300 South Armstrong Street, in Crothersville.

The fire has led to the closure of both lanes of US 31 near the scene as first responders arrive on scene. Travelers on Interstate 65 should not get off at the Uniontown and Austin exits to U.S. 31 to get through Crothersville as both lanes of 31 have been closed.
