Two arrested for immigration violations

Two Jackson County men have been arrested and face possible deportation to Mexico, police report.

Wilfred Rodriguez-Ocasio, 31, of Seymour was arrested Tuesday by Jackson County Reserve Officer Scott Davis on a charge of operating while never having received a driver’s license.

During the book-in process at the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown, it was discovered  Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents had been looking for Rodriguez-Ocasio for seven years for violating immgrations law after coming to the U.S. from Mexico, Davis said.

ICE officials picked up Rodriguez-Ocasio on the day of his arrest here and took him to Indianapolis, Davis said.

On Sunday, Davis said he arrested Diego Tomas Bartolome, 24, of Seymour for operating while never having received a driver’s license. Bartolome, who also is originally from Mexico, is being held on an ICE warrant for violating immigration laws after coming to the US.

He was being held at the jail in Brownstown pending his transfer to ICE officials, Davis said.
