Robert L. “Bob” Reynolds, 88, of Medora passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at his home.

He wore many hats and also was known as “Little Haley” and “Papa.”

Bob was born July 14, 1929, in Washington County, to Robert N. and Millie Albertson Reynolds, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Cynthia Annice Bobbitt on Aug. 1, 1955, in Crown Point, and she preceded him in death.

Bob graduated from Medora High School in 1947, where he was known as a star basketball player.

Bob was in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952, where he served as a mail clerk. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with five bronze stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1985 after 30 years of service. After retirement, he continued working by helping farm with Andy Roller and his old school chum, Jack Roller.

He was well-known in the Medora area and enjoyed passing out peppermint candies to everyone he met. Bob was a great husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He loved family and knowing what each member was doing. Family gatherings were his favorite times. Bob enjoyed karaoke with his family and friends. He loved country and bluegrass music.

Bob was a member of Medora Wesleyan Church and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6636 in Salem.

He is survived by his children, Randal David (Gayna) Reynolds, Bernice May George, Robert Brian (Kimberly) Reynolds, Richard Kevin Reynolds and Mardeana Kay (Helen) Reynolds; sister, Judy Davis; grandchildren, David (Katie) Reynolds, Shawna (D.J.) Gray, Leslie Ault, Sarah (Todd) Dunkel, Emily (Jake) Riggs, Adam Reynolds, Jacob Reynolds, Tyler Reynolds and Craig (Steph) Bell; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by three brothers, Darvin, Ron and Don Reynolds, and one grandchild, Matthew Reynolds.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Winklepleck & Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Skip Breeden officiating. Burial will take place at White River Valley Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Terry Reynolds, Adam Reynolds, Tyler Reynolds, David W. Reynolds, Mark Reynolds, Kevin Davis, Junior Bowers and Craig Bell.

Full military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47 and Korean & Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Memorials may be made to Medora Wesleyan Church, HOPE Medora Goes Pink or White River Valley Cemetery.
