Lily Mullis, co-president of the Seymour High School Latin Club, recently presented a $500 donation to members of the Seymour Rotary Club for its annual “I Like Me” book project.

The Rotary Club has been involved in the project for more than 15 years.

This year, the Seymour Rotary Club presented more than 535 personalized books to most kindergarten students in Jackson County.

Several Rotarians delivered the books to kindergarten classes, and some Rotarians read through the books with the class.

Each book is personalized with the student’s name, two friends’ names, their teacher, principal and school.

The book has a page for parents and older children to discuss themes in each two-page spread, a spot for a kindergarten photo and several pages for autographs.

The Rotary Club was assisted in funding this year by several local businesses and organizations, including the Seymour High School Latin Club, Brownstown Electric Supply Co., Duke Energy, Friends of the Jackson County Public Library, Health Centered Spine & Wellness, JCB, Lannett, Psi Iota Xi of Brownstown, RR Donnelley, Schneck Medical Center and State Bank of Medora.
