The Seymour Police Department announced Friday it will conduct a sobriety checkpoint this weekend.

The checkpoint will be late today through early Sunday within city limits.

Motorists can expect delays in the area during the checkpoint.

The effort aims to curb impaired driving and apprehend those who drive impaired, according to a press release from the department.

The sobriety checkpoint is funded by a federal traffic safety grant administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
