Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes has announced the addition of Buddy Fletcher to its team.

He will serve Seymour and other Jackson County communities as managing director.

“I am excited to be part of the Burkholder and Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes group,” Fletcher said. “They have a family-first attitude and desire to customize every funeral to meet the needs of families.”

He comes to Burkholder Chapel with 30 years of experience in the funeral industry.

“I love people, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else,” he said. “It is a privilege to help families celebrate and remember their loved ones.”

Fletcher and his wife, Amy, have six children. They enjoy being together and participating in many outdoor activities.

Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is a family-owned and operated business serving the Seymour community since 1869. In 1963, the business was moved to the M.S. Blish home at 419 N. Chestnut St., where it remains today.

In November 2017, Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes acquired the business. The owners are Phil and Amy Thorne and Derek and Abby George.
