Seymour police arrested three Jackson County residents Sunday following separate pursuits.

The first occurred at around 2:40 a.m. when Officer Ben Miller attempted to stop a vehicle at Brown Street and Marley Lane.

The driver of that car, which matched the description of one reported stolen Saturday, refused to stop and accelerated as he drove west on Oak Street, police said.

The driver, later identified as James Keith Grissom, 33, of Seymour, pulled into a residence in the 600 block of South O’Brien Street and fled on foot and forced his way inside a vacant residence, Capt. Carl Lamb said.

Miller and other officers were able to catch Grissom, who was arrested on Level 6 felony charges of auto theft and resisting law enforcement, and Class A misdemeanor charges of resisting law enforcement and driving while suspended.

He was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 3:38 a.m. Sunday and was still being held there Tuesday afternoon on a $1,105 bond.

The second incident occurred when Raymond Pete Willman, 37, of Seymour was arrested following a foot pursuit around 6:15 p.m.

Lamb said Willman had been wanted on multiple warrants, and police received a person matching his description on West Second Street near the railroad tracks.

Cpl. Adam Surface responded, and Willman took off running, Lamb said.

He was arrested at Pine and Fourth streets and was booked into the jail at 7:25 p.m. Sunday.

Willman was being held without bond on a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement. He also was being held on four warrants, including domestic battery causing injury, contempt of court and two for resisting law enforcement.

He was booked into the jail at 7:25 p.m. and being held without bond.

The third pursuit took place around 10:35 p.m. Officer Ryan Cherry stopped a minivan, reported stolen in Brownstown, in the area of Broadway and Sixth streets.

Police said Adam J. Wood, 21, of Brownstown was driving the car and attempted to flee on foot from Cherry during the stop.

Sgt. Mike Cooper responded to the scene and officers used an electronic control device, commonly known as a Taser, to take Wood into custody.

Wood was booked into the jail at 11:14 p.m. on a $1,505 bond.
