Phi Beta Psi conducts patriotic barbecue

The most humbled red team of the Phi Beta Psi sorority, Theta Omega chapter invited the victorious white team to a patriotic barbecue with all of the trimmings June 27 at the shelter house at Gaiser Park in Seymour.

It was the end-of-year fun event, as the group will now have a two-month summer break. Members came dressed in their best and most patriotic outfits.

After the meal. a scavenger hunt was conducted between two teams. Receiving prizes were Doris Baurle, Natasha Miller, Karen Sutton, Joan Trimpe, Taryn Rockey, Katie Cooper, Jackie Hill, Jan Robinson, Jo Pfaffenberger, Rachel Rust, Jennifer Payton, Melanie Klakamp, Janet Cooper and Angi Reynolds.

Secret sister names were revealed. and gifts were exchanged. Stephanee Squires-Roberts told about a running event Nov. 3 in Indianapolis. New secret sister names were drawn.

Each person on the winning team went home with a patriotic-themed tin bucket complete with an American flag, a gift card and various candies. These served as the table decorations.
