Two men were arrested over the weekend as part of an investigation of a burglary in progress Friday on U.S. 31 north of Uniontown.

Alexander Scott Johnson, 20, of Seymour faces charges of burglary, theft and possession of a handgun without a permit in connection with the incident reported in the 1300 block of North U.S. 31.

Tavontay Michael Shipp, 19, also of Seymour, was arrested on burglary and theft charges after that incident.

According to a news release from Jackson County Officer Rick Meyer, the arrest of the pair began when a neighbor — watching a house for a homeowner who was out of town — reported he had two people outside that house and a third person was either still inside or had taken off on foot.
