Ladies Aid 3 meets at Immanuel Lutheran Church

Ladies Aid 3 of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour met July 17 in the fellowship hall with Sandy Helwig and Carol Hill serving as hostesses.

President Jane Pardieck opened the meeting with the group singing verses 1 and 2 of Hymn 537 and reading Psalm 100.

Sharon Klakamp had roll call with 22 members responding. The secretary’s report was given, and Linda Kamman made a motion to accept it, and Ann Mahan seconded it. The motion passed.

Rosalie Grabinski gave the treasurer’s report.

Rachel Geraci gave a small summary of their remaining days in Seymour. A reception for the Geracis was July 29, and moving day was Aug. 2.

A nominating committee of Carol Hill, Donna Runge and Ginny Fenton will have a list of candidates for office for the August and September meetings. Grabinski has agreed to serve as treasurer for another year.

The activity committee reported the group is traveling to Derby Dinner Playhouse in Clarksville on Sept. 19. Members will meet in the south parking lot and depart at 10:30 a.m.

Linda Kamman, reporting for the cheer committee, said five birthday cards, one anniversary card and one get well card have been sent.

Sandi Helwig reported on the craft show spaces. There are four open spots in the old gym and some in the hallway. Lois Byrkett has set up a Facebook page for the show. Articles pertaining to the craft show have been sent to local newspapers, the REMC newsletter and the visitor center. Contracts and information will be mailed to vendors who have reserved spaces in early August.

Mahan has contacted Eve Davis for catering the Christmas party. She charges $12 for one meat and $14 for a second choice. She also will provide the entertainment. Carol Hill made a motion to have her be the caterer and entertainment with two meat choices. It was seconded by Donna Otte. The motion was voted on and passed.

A check was given to the church office for $394.50 for use of office supplies used throughout the year.

The group discussed selling cushions to use while attending athletic events.

Pardieck will have more to report in August.

Kamman and Carlana Able will be hostesses for August.

Helwig made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Able seconded it. The motion passed, and the meeting closed with Verse 4 of Hymn 537 and praying the Lord’s Prayer.
