The Jackson County Plan Commission will consider a request for a special exception for construction of a stable on property with lake residential district zoning during a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the courthouse annex, 220 E. Walnut St., Brownstown.

Teresa Thompson’s plans call for construction of a 60-by-90-foot barn to house four horses with storage and a 60-by-80-foot riding arena on a 6.34-acre site in the 900 block of East Base Road in Brownstown Township. The property, known as a Huff Creek Valley Farm, is owned by Thompson and Beulah and Irvin Hamilton.

The nine-member plan commission will consider the request before passing it on to the five-member Jackson County Board of Zoning Appeals with a favorable recommendation, an unfavorable recommendation or no recommendation.

Plan commission meetings are open to the public and press.
