The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close State Road 250 at Brownstown on Tuesday for up to 30 days while contracted crews replace the small structure that carries Hough Creek under the road.

A signed detour will route motorists around the construction site via State Road 11, U.S. 50 and State Road 39.

E&B Paving is INDOT’s contractor for this $2,230,246 project, which also involves replacement of box culverts on State Road 235 north of Medora and installation of new bridge deck overlays at structures on State Road 135 at Brownstown and State Road 235 east of Medora.

The new State Road 250 culvert at Brownstown will be a 16-by-5-foot reinforced box structure measuring 26 feet in width.

State Road 250’s traffic count is 2,502 vehicles per day.
