The Brownstown Central volleyball team won the sectional, regional and semi-state to advance to the Final Four at Ben Davis High School in 1983. The Braves defeated Seymour, Crothersville and Austin in the sectional before topping Floyd Central and Jeffersonville in the regional. At the semi-state, the Braves picked up wins over Jasper and Castle. They then fell short to Muncie Burris. Brownstown went 24-9 that season, including winning 14 straight leading up to the Final Four.
