The two McDonald’s restaurants in Seymour will do a fundraiser Tuesday to benefit the families of the teens involved in a wreck in Cortland last month.

From 5 to 8 p.m. that day, McDonald’s will donate 20 percent of its sales to the families that have endured the tragic injury or loss of their children. The family-owned restaurants are at 427 Stevens Way and 913 E. Tipton St.

"I’m hoping this has a great turnout and we are able to give some financial relief to these families," said Matt Dodd, director of operations for Saliba LLC, dba McDonald’s.

In the incident late Aug. 25, a vehicle crashed into a stalled Chevrolet Suburban on State Road 258 east of Cortland. Four teens helping push the Suburban back to a nearby home died, and four others helping push the Suburban and a girl inside the vehicle were injured.
