Volleyball pairings announced

The IHSAA released the 2018 volleyball sectional draws on Sunday evening.

In Sectional 15 play, at Seymour High School, the Owls will open play against New Albany. The winner will face Floyd Central in the semifinals.

Providence gets a bye to open the sectional at SHS, awaiting the victor of Jennings County against Jeffersonville.

Sectional 30, at Brownstown Central High School, has the hosts getting a bye in the first round. The Braves will face the winner of Salem-North Harrison in the semis.

In the lower bracket, Silver Creek goes up against Scottsburg and Corydon Central faces Charlestown.

The Sectional 62 bracket, featuring five teams, at West Washington High School, pits Crothersville against Trinity Lutheran in the first round. The winner plays Shawe Memorial in the semis.

Medora will go up against West Washington in the upper bracket.

Sectional play will commence on Oct. 9.
