Update at 9:08 a.m.:

Interstate 65 northbound is now being opened back up at Exit 55 following an earlier crash near the 62-mile-marker.

Police ask motorists to be patient while traffic gets moving again.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 65 are closed between exits 55 and 64 because of a crash involving multiple semitrailers, police report.

The closure looks like it could be lengthy, according a report from Sgt. Stephen Wheeles with the Indiana State Police.

Wheeles advises motorists to avoid going north from Exit 55.
