Library recognizing Red Ribbon Week

The Jackson County Public Library is committed to a drug-free community and will join the nation taking a stand against drugs during Red Ribbon Week, which will begin Tuesday and end Oct. 31.

During the week, there will be a drop-in craft in the Seymour Library Kidz Korner and at the Crothersville and Medora libraries while supplies last.

Thanks to more than $1,300 recently donated in memory of former Jackson County Drug-Free Council member Judy O. Smith, the library now has many new addiction and recovery resources in the collection at all three libraries and on OverDrive. A list of items in the collection will be available for the public beginning Tuesday. Paperback books also were purchased for a collection at the Jackson County Jail.

The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a drug-free America.
