Runners qualify for national championships

Thirteen local runners from the South Central Indiana Running Club will travel to Reno, Nevada, Dec. 8 to run in the USA Track and Field XC National Championships.

Brownstown Elementary, Immanuel Lutheran, Seymour Middle School Sixth Grade Center and Emerson Elementary will all be represented.

The runners qualified for Reno after running in the Chicago Regional.

Corbin Adair (Immanuel) will compete in the 8-and-under boys race and Chloe Jablonski (Emerson) and Brinley Sinclair (Immanuel) will run in the girls race.

Caleb Jablonski (Emerson), Braxton Sinclair (Imannuel), and Lance and Jacob Caudill (Brownstown) will run in the 9-10 boys race while Alexis Stuckwisch (Immanuel), Lauren Dowell (Emerson) and Kelly Beavers (Immanuel) compete for the girls.

Gracie Adams (Sixth Grade Center) and Cheyenne Campbell (Immanuel) will run the girls race in the 11-12 girls and Micah Jablonski is the lone competitor for the boys in that age group.

The following qualified for nationals, but are unable to attend: Evan Ahlbrand (Redding), Nate Negrete (Immanuel), Trinity Cody (Brownstown), Ava Sunbury (Sixth Grade Center), Kinsley Folsom (SMS), Vivienne Seifker (Immanuel)

Since EXCL ended in September, over 30 runners have participated all around Indiana in USATF XC races. SCIRC ran in Bloomington, Indianapolis, Noblesville, Columbus, Seymour, Nashville, and in Dekalb, Illinois.
