Cougars fall to Spartans
SHELBY — Despite posting 35 points in the fourth quarter, Trinity Lutheran couldn’t mount a comeback at Southwestern (Shelby) Friday.
Trinity led 14-12 in the first quarter, but scored just four points in the second.
Down 24-18, the Cougars were outscored 24-14 in the third quarter.
The Cougars were able to cut the deficit to 70-64 with 30 seconds left, but it wasn’t enough time.
Tyler Goecker, Jack Marksberry and Mitchell Hackman each finished with 13 points for to lead Trinity.
Kaleb Hodson hit a school record 10 3-pointers in the game for the Spartans.
Trinity will host West Washington tonight.
