The Jackson County Public Library board of trustees received a report from Crothersville Library Coordinator Cindy Huckleberry when it met Monday at the Crothersville Library.

Huckleberry reported on upcoming programs and told the board how use has increased since the Scott County Public Library went live on Evergreen Indiana in November.

Besides replacing outdated computers and hardware, Administrator Mary Reed reported 2019 capital projects include the replacement of the roof at the Medora Library, the second part of an upgrade to the Seymour Library HVAC and repair to the Seymour Library former entrance stairs.

Projects for 2020 approved by the board and to be included in the 2020 budget are finishing the HVAC project and carpeting upstairs and behind the checkout desk at the Seymour Library.

The board also received the annual report for 2018 from Director Julia Aker. In 2018, the library had an increase in program attendance with almost 39,000 attendees at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries and on the Discovery Bus. Library staff also answered more than 27,800 reference questions.

The next regular library board meeting is at 5 p.m. April 15 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.
