Exchange Club recognizes Youths of the Month

The Brownstown Exchange Club recently released information about its February and March Youths of the Month.

Brownstown Central High School senior Claire Poulton was named Youth of the Month for February.

Poulton, the daughter of A.J. and Susan Poulton, is president of the National Honor Society and vice president of the student council and the Class of 2019.

In cross-country, she was named Academic All-State and the Braves’ mental attitude award winner. In basketball, she was named Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association Academic All-State and made The Tribune’s All-County team. In softball, she was named to The Tribune’s All-County team and was the Braves’ mental attitude award winner.

Poulton, who is the pianist at Community Church of Brownstown, plans to study biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University.

Senior Robbie Branaman was named Youth of the Month for March.

The son of Richard and Kristi Branaman, he acted in school musicals and played trumpet for the band.

Branaman was a member of the Braves’ football team and was named to the All Mid-Southern Conference team and earned Academic All-State. He also qualified for the regional in track and field.

He is a member of the Christian Club, Letterman’s Club and National Honor Society.

Branaman plans to study engineering at Purdue University.

The Brownstown Exchange Club meets at 7 a.m. every Tuesday morning at Dairy Queen in Brownstown. Visitors are always welcome.
