Brownstown Central softball holds awards program

BROWNSTOWN

The Brownstown Central High School softball team wrapped up its 2019 season with an awards program Monday night.

This spring, the Braves finished with a record of 14-12 overall. In the Mid-Southern Conference, the Braves went 5-4 to finish sixth of 10 teams.

Freshman Erin Singleton was named the Braves’ Most Valuable Player and also picked up the leading hitter award.

Singleton was also named All-Mid-Southern Conference along with junior teammate Addy Krieger. Krieger also took home the mental attitude award.

Braves sophomore Alli Reynolds was named All-MSC honorable mention

Claire Poulton, the Braves’ lone senior on its roster, was presented the award for outstanding defense.

The leading pitcher award went to freshman Maddison Brittain.

The Braves’ junior varsity team, led by coach Steve Meahl, went 5-4.

The JV leading hitter was freshman Zoe Stuckwisch.

Monte Ault, a 1969 BCHS graduate, recently wrapped up his 23rd year of coaching the Braves. Kirsten Ault-Beavers was the assistant coach for the Braves.
