Immanuel Lutheran wins 60th annual I and I tournament

The Immanuel Lutheran eighth grade boys basketball team dominated the 60th annual I and I tourney in Danville over the weekend.

They never let any of their opponents score more than 19 points, defeating Trinity-Danville 59-19, Zion 55-9 and Our Savior Springfield 46-15 in the championship game.

Scoring against Trinity-Danville, Peyton Pollert led the way with 16 points while Evan Rudicel and Trevor Goecker also finished with 10 each. Michael Brooks chipped in nine,  Andrew Wiggam scored five, Evan Royer had four, and Kowan Gross and Boone Nicholson scored two each.

Against Zion, Gross was the man to beat with 14, Pollert scored 10, Royer added nine, Rudicel scored six, Chase Bode chipped in five, Brooks and Wiggam scored four each, Nicholson added two and Goecker had one.

In the championship game against Our Savior, Pollert went off for 29, Brooks had five, Rudicel and Goecker scored four each, and Gross and Bode had two each.

Crothersville homecoming set for Friday

The Crothersville High School homecoming will be held on Friday, Dec. 13. The crowning ceremony will take place between junior varsity and varsity games.

The Tigers will also honor another local veteran as part of their hometown heroes program and will also induct their second set of people into their inaugural Hall of Fame class.

Tipoff for JV will be at 6 p.m.
