The Friends of the Jackson County Public Library’s bimonthly book sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 4 in the meeting room at the library, 303 W. Second St., Seymour.

A special Friends-only preview of the sale is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 3.

This sale will feature tables of books, movies, music and a few miscellaneous items. Adult hardback and softbound books are $1; children’s and young adult hardback and paperback books are 50 cents; and DVDs are $2. During the final two hours of the sale from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, volunteers will hand out bags to fill with books for $3 a bag.

Donations of gently used books are welcome to help stock upcoming bimonthly sales and the ongoing sales at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries. Drop them off at any checkout desk during library hours.

Anyone interested in becoming a Friend of the Jackson County Public Library or renewing their membership for 2020 will find forms at the sale, at the checkout desks or online. Annual dues are $5 for individuals, $10 for family, $25 for donor and $50 for benefactor.

The next book sale will be March 7. The Friends have ongoing sales carts at the Crothersville and Medora libraries and the Book Nook in the Seymour Library lobby.
