Seymour Middle School and Sixth Grade Center band students participated in the Indiana State School Music Association Solo and Ensemble Contest on Feb. 1 at Columbus East High School.
Students playing a solo and receiving a gold medal were Shayla Thompson, Alma Leal, Makenna Greenawalt, Maria Ruiz, Audrey Newkirk, Ava Sunbury, Macy Casner, Fernando Castellano, Nancy Martin, Wes Proffer, Haleigh Beavers, Kimmy Garcia, Lucas Zike, Will Proffer, Sallie Nicholson, Ben Marks, Michael Sandefur, Owen Harper, Lucas Jablonski, Savanna Ruane, Anna Obermeyer, Aubri Engle, Emma Tormoehlen, Lindsey Greenawalt and Aria Massengale.

Receiving a silver medal were Kaytlin Stout, Kaylee McCormick, Tristan Cooley and Caden Harriss.
Students in an ensemble receiving gold medals were flute trio with Mia Prewitt, Marissa Motsinger and Brooklyn Crank; clarinet trio with Kylee Cooper, Averie Linville and Ismael Santiago Cruz; clarinet trio with Audrey Newkirk, Ava Sunbury and Alana Jacobi; saxophone trio with Hayleigh Beavers, Kaden Greathouse and Gabby Guzman; woodwind trio with Jade Morris, Taylee Thompson and Maggie Calhoun; woodwind trio with Blaze Shouse, Kaden Greathouse and Alexys Thompson; and woodwind trio with Ava Gorbett, Ava Shuler and Erika Corya.
Also, woodwind quartet with Alana Jacobi, Wes Proffer, Will Proffer and Ava Sunbury; French horn trio with Aubri Engle, Savanna Ruane and Emma Tormoehlen; trombone trio with Lane Carroll, Isaac Rust and Alejandro Perez; low brass trio with Katie Cottrill, Cole Simmons and Devon Jackson; percussion ensemble with Axel Arrona, Carmen Ingram and Kiley Estes; and percussion ensemble with Brady Burgmeier and Zander Day.
Students receiving a silver medal were a trumpet trio with Caden Lane, Connor Dobbins and Elijah Downey.
