Police arrest Vallonia man for dealing methamphetamine

A 35-year-old Jackson County man was arrested Friday for dealing in methamphetamine as the result of an ongoing investigation by the Seymour Police Department.

Benjamin Christopher Wheeler was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 12:05 p.m. on a preliminary Level 5 charge of manufacturing/dealing methamphetamine.

According to a news release from Seymour Lt. C.J. Foster, police also found marijuana while searching Wheeler during his arrest, and they learned he was wanted on a Jackson Circuit Court warrant for a probation violation in connection with a theft conviction.

A Level 5 felony is punishable by one to six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted.
