Braves volleyball sweeps North Harrison

Brownstown Central’s volleyball team continues to rev up for next week’s state Sectional play with a strong run, conquering North Harrison, 25-16, 25-18, 25-5, Tuesday night.

The defending 3A state champs improved their season’s record to 16-9.

Kendra McCory and Jennifer Pence each delivered 10 kills and Kelsey Wischmeier chimed in with five more.

Myka Keltz came through with three aces and Regan Nuss and McCory collected two aces apiece.

Seymour volleyball handles Bedford North Lawrence

By a margin of 25-16, 25-20, 25-19, the Owls worked their way to a three-game sweep of Bedford Tuesday night, showing sharp play as the Sectional looms next week.

Seymour’s record is now 15-14 after a slow start due to illness and injury.

The 15 kills put away by Olivia Fish was a major offensive boost and Lauren Knieriem and Cali Cummings accounted for eight kills each. Maggie Connell notched four aces in serving.

Addi Lemon totaled 25 assists and Paige Lawrence 13 while Brianna Lawrence provided 15 digs.

Trinity Lutheran stockpiles another win

Although there was a minor lapse in the third set, the Cougars righted themselves and swept Rock Creek Academy, Tuesday night, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.

After capturing the first two sets, Trinity fell behind 10-2 in the third set before turning the situation around for the victory that raised the squad’s record to 24-5.

Three players each contributed the same leading number of kills with Kennedy Hoffman, Bailey Tabelling and Ruth Bingham recording seven apiece. Sydney Jaynes and Stella Kleffman added to the diverse attack with five kills each.

Elly Carter led the way serving with her four aces and Bailey Reynolds and Hoffman were right behind with three aces each. Kamzi Gross produced 15 digs and Reynolds totaled 25 assists.
