COVID-19 has given Mental Health America Jackson County the opportunity to think outside the box.

The nonprofit organization is working on its Christmas Gift Lift 2020, and people can help provide Christmas gifts to clients this year with a $25 sponsorship.

Monetary donations are tax-deductible. They may be mailed to MHAJC, P.O. Box 51, Seymour, IN 47274.

Gift bags will be assembled and delivered to clients. Items will include a variety of plush throw blankets, body wash, lotion, gloves, hats, etc.

In 2019, the organization provided Christmas gifts to 197 clients. It serves 19 direct service provider homes in Jackson County, and clients usually attend four social gatherings each year, but only one has been conducted this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mental Health America’s goal is to increase public understanding and acceptance of people with mental illnesses, and the organization is dedicated to helping people live mentally healthier lives.
