After a weeks-long head start on the winter sports calendar leaving the field to girls high school basketball, other area teams will begin competition for the season this week.

The Seymour boys basketball team open tonight at 7:30 p.m. on the road versus Corydon Central.

Seymour’s boys and girls swim teams have home meets at 6 p.m. against Madison.

Wednesday, the Seymour wrestling team makes its debut at Owen Valley in a four-team match beginning at 9 a.m.

The Crothersville boys basketball team also plays tonight at 6 p.m. at Waldron in its first game of the season. The Trinity Lutheran boys are at Orleans at 7:30 p.m.

Brownstown Central and Medora boys basketball teams do not open until the first few days of December.
