Crothersville falls to Borden in conference play

Borden scored six runs in the first inning and defeated Crothersville 20-0 in five innings in a Southern Athletic Conference baseball game on the Braves’ diamond Tuesday.

The Braves held a 13-0 lead after three innings as the Tigers dropped their SAC opener.

The Tigers managed only one hit, a single by Lucas Hilton in the first inning.

The Tigers, 0-3 overall, will be home to West Washington on Thursday.

Softball

Trinity Lutheran wins in five innings

Trinity Lutheran defeated Indianapolis Lutheran 10-0 in five innings Tuesday.

Kamzi Gross went 3 for 3 3 on the day with a single, a double and a home run, scoring two runs and two RBI.

Bailey Reynolds was 1 for 3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.

The win improved the Cougars to 5-0 on the season, and they will play at Oldenburg Academy on Thursday before playing in the New Albany Tournament on Saturday.

Seymour falls to Columbus North 4-3

The Owls lost a close game to Columbus 4-3 on Tuesday.

Kynadee Warner and Alyssa Perry each had multiple hits on the day, and Kendrick Sterling and Kendall Allman each hit one home run.

Track and field

Brownstown teams lose to Eastern

Brownstown’s girls track and field team just fell to Eastern 68-56.

Avery Koch won the shot put and discus, Jazz Yeadon won the 400 and Abby Bennett won the 200. The 4×1 team of Yeadon, Jocelyn Love, Bennett and Thompson as well as the 4×8 team of Tori Lokey, Madison Stuckwisch, Kelis East and Emily Reinbold all got first-place finishes.

Brownstown’s boys track and field team lost to Eastern 84-58.

Dustyn Kocsis won the shot put and discus, Caleb Cummings won the 100 and 200 and Garrett Driver won the 400.

Tiger track teams fall against South Decatur

South Decatur track teams defeated Crothersville 75-43 in the girls meet and 98-24 in the boys meet on the Tigers’ track Tuesday afternoon.

Placing first for the Crothersville girls were Kaylyn Holman in the 1,600 (5:32), 800 (2:37.63) and 3,200 (12:32).

Kennadi Lakins won the long jump (13-6) and was second in high jump (4-6) and third in the 100, and Kiarra Lakins won the 100 hurdles in 19.75.

Shea Reynolds was first in the shot (26-10) and second in the discus (74-6).

Ella Plasse was second in the 3,200 (13:56) and second in the mile (6:22).

Leading the CHS boys was David Rose with firsts in the mile (5:10) and first in the 3,200 (11:23).

Will Ragan won the 400 (1:02), and Elijah Plasse was second in the high jump (5-0) and second in the mile at 5:21.

Softball

Brownstown softball defeats West Washington

The Braves came away with a tight victory Monday night, taking down West Washington 2-1.

It was an impressive performance on the mound from Rylin Huddleston, who shut out West Washington, allowing five hits and striking out 12.

Kelsey Schneider, Addyson Coomer and Zoe Stuckwisch all had one hit on the day with Schneider driving in the lone RBI. Erin Singleton scored both runs for the Braves.

Golf

Brownstown Central boys golf defeated Mitchell head to head Monday, shooting a 184 to Mitchell’s 219.

Chandler Stahl led the way with a 43, Caiden Gwin shot a 44, Elix Preston had a 45, Jaren Cunningham a 52, Caden Clodfelder a 57 and Cooper Wolka a 57.

Other BCHS scores were Liam Kreis 59, Reid Campbell 52, Connor Gwin 54, Carson Darlage 58, Colton Hallow 57, Tucker Tormoehlen 63 and Cole Brelage 67.
