Extension office front desk moving for the summer

The Purdue Extension Jackson County front desk reception area has been temporarily relocated for the summer months.

The Jackson County Commissioners and Jackson County Council have approved a project to replace the drain in front of the office’s current location, replace drywall, remove carpet and put down new flooring in the coming months.

The reception area is located in the basement of the county courthouse just down the hallway from the extension office’s normal location.

The public can access the reception area by entering the courthouse at 111 S. Main St., Brownstown, through the main doors upstairs or the side door.

Signs are posted directing the public to the correct temporary location. The public is not able to access the extension office’s current location. That means visitors need to go to the reception area to be assisted with all 4-H, agriculture/natural resources and health and human science needs.

Office Manager Madge Warren and Secretary Lenora Mathena will be able to assist visitors and notify extension educators of their needs.
