Hold a Public Hearing
RE: The City intends to request ARRA funding for construction of a new transit garage.
1. Notice is hereby given that the City of Seymour will provide an opportunity for a public hearing for the purpose of considering a grant for which federal capital assistance under Section 5311 of the Federal Transit Act, as amended, is being sought. The hearing will be held if any person interested in a hearing submits a request in writing that a hearing be held to by the City of Seymour within a ten (10) day period, after the publication of this notice.
The project is generally described as follows:
A. Description of Project
• The project period is estimated to be 12 months, The City of Seymour will be the applicant, and Recycle to Ride will be the public transportation operator(s) assisted with these funds.
• The request is for a new transit garage to be located at Freeman Field.
• The total request for funding will be $183,229.
B. Relocation
No (0) persons, families and/or businesses are estimated to be displaced by this project. Persons, families and businesses so displaced will be afforded rights as required by the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Act of 1970.
C. Environment
• This proposed project(s) will not have a significant environmental impact upon the service area.
2. If a hearing is requested and scheduled, The City of Seymour will afford an opportunity for interested persons, agencies and private transportation providers to be heard with respect to the social, environmental, and economic aspects of the grant. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect to said grant at the public hearing.
3. A copy of the application is currently available for public inspection through the office of the Mayor 301-309 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, IN.
