VERNON — A 17-year-old youth was flown to University of Louisville Hospital after he was injured in a wreck Sunday afternoon in Jennings County.

According to a report from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, the 17-year-old was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Michael Neace.

Police say Neace was traveling east on County Road 1050S when he stopped at a stop sign at County Road 800W. Neace then pulled through the intersection and was struck by a vehicle driven by Jerry Neace, who was traveling north on County Road 800W.

Jerry Neace had the right-of-way and did not have to stop, police reported.

Michael Neace, Jerry Neace and a passenger in his vehicle all were taken to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon for treatment.
