Nation doesn't need federal insurance law

Why do people want a federal law to allow insurance companies to compete across state lines?
An insurance company licensed in any state may apply to the insurance commissioner of any other state for that authority now. For just two examples, Allstate Insurance Company issues health insurance policies in all 50 states. Why do you think it bears the name Allstate?
Also, Prudential writes life insurance in all 50 states.
If you want government control of all business decisions, just wait a year or two and enjoy your choice of the two or three cars available from Government Motors, all of which may be built in China.
We used to be proud of having “free enterprise” in our country. It soon may be just a memory.
