Public Hearing Notice

On or about June 12, 2009, the Town of Medora intends to apply to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for reimbursement from the Office of Community and Rural Affair's CDBG Disaster Recovery Appropriation #1. This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. These funds are to be used for community disaster assistance. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $2155. The amount of the CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit low- and moderate-income persons is $1,278.

The Town of Medora will hold a public hearing on June 10, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. in the Medora Town Hall located at 27 N. Perry Street to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federally funded CDBG Disaster Recovery reimbursement. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Betty Campbell, Clerk-Treasurer, at 812-358-5500 not later than June 8, 2009. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons.

Information related to this CDBG reimbursement application will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of May 26, 2009, at the Medora Town Hall located at 27 N. Perry Street, Medora, Indiana 47260, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, closed Wednesday. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding the proposed federal reimbursement at the public hearing or provide a written statement. Written comments should be submitted to Betty Campbell, Clerk-Treasurer, no later than June 8, 2009 in order to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared by the Town of Medora and is also available to the public. This project will result in no displacement.
