An Ordinance Amending Chapter 75 of the Seymour City Code concerning regulation of parking

Be it ordained by the common council of the city of Seymour, Indiana that:

Section 1.

Schedule I (A) of Chapter 75 of the Seymour City Code is hereby amended to designate the following location as a prohibited area for the parking of motor vehicles within the city:

The north side of "A" Avenue from "1st" Avenue West except for two spaces reserved for school bus parking in front of the Seymour Headstart School at 1058 "A" Avenue.

Section 2.

All prior ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

§10.99 of the Seymour City Code provides in relevant part that "Any person violating any of the provisions of this code shall be guilty of a code violation...(and) shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine not exceeding $2,500." Fines can increase for each repeat offense. Offenders can also be assessed attorney fees, court costs and expenses incurred by the City for prosecuting violations of the Seymour City Code.

The Clerk-Treasurer shall have this ordinance published one time each week for two (2) consecutive weeks in the Seymour Tribune.

This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval by the Mayor, and publication, all as by law provided.

Adopted by the Common Council and Approved by me, as Mayor, this 12th day of May, 2008, at 7:07 p.m.
