Notice of Adoption of a Declaration
Resolution By the City of
Seymour Redevelopment Commission
And of a Public Hearing With
Respect Thereto
Notice is hereby given that the City of Seymour Redevelopment Commission (the "Commission"), being the governing body of the City of Seymour Department of Redevelopment (the "Department"), on February 29, 2008, adopted a resolution (the "Declaratory Resolution") declaring that a certain area within the City of Seymour, Indiana, designated as the "Burkart Boulevard/I-65 Economic Development Area" (the "Economic Development Area") is an economic development area within the meaning of Indiana Code 36-7-14 (the "Act"), approving an economic development plan for the Economic Development Area (the
Economic Development Plan"), and designating the entire Economic Development area as an "allocation area" for the purpose of allocation and distribution of certain property taxes (commonly referred to as "tax increment") under Section 39 of the Act.
A general description of the Economic Development Area is included in the Economic Development Plan.
Notice is hereby given that the Commission will conduct a public hearing on June 30, 2008, at 3:00 p.m., local time, in the Council Chambers at Seymour City Hall, located at 301-309 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana, to receive and hear remonstrances and objections from all persons interested in or affected by the proposed projects and the proceedings pertaining thereto.
The Commission will determine the public utility and the benefit of the proposed projects. Maps and plats of the Economic Development Area have been prepared and, along with the Declaratory Resolution and the Economic Development Plan, can be inspected at the office of the Mayor, Seymour City Hall, 301-309 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana.
