Notice To Bidders

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received:

By: Seymour Community Schools, 1638 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274

For: Phase 2 – HVAC Renovations to: Cortland Elementary School, Margaret R. Brown Elementary School

At: Administration Building, Seymour Community Schools, 1638 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274

Until: 2:00 p.m. (local time), on December 16, 2009

Bid Opening: Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. (local time), at the Seymour Community Schools Administration Building, 1638 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274

All work for the complete construction of the Project will be under one prime contract with the Owner based on bids received and on combinations awarded. The Construction Manager will manage the construction of the Project.

Construction shall be in full accordance with the Bidding Documents which are on file with the owner and may be examined by prospective bidders at the following locations:

Office of the Construction Manager, The Skillman Corporation, 3834 S. Emerson Avenue, Building A, Indianapolis, IN 46203

Office of the Owner, 1638 S. Walnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274

Office of the Architect, VPS Architects, 528 Main Street, Evansville, IN 47708

Office of the Engineer, Durkin & Villalta Partners Engineering, 8440 Wodofield Crossing Blvd., Suite 175, Indianapolis, IN 46240

Prime Contract Bidders may order Bidding Documents at www.skillmanplanroom.com or pick them up at the office of Eastern Engineering, 9901 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46038; (317) 598-0661 or 1-866-884-4115 after prior approval from the Office of the Construction Manager, telephone (317) 783-6151. No plan deposit will be required from Prime Contract Bidders.

Non-Prime Bidders may obtain Bidding Documents at the Office Eastern Engineering, 9901 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46038; (317) 598-0661 or 1-866-884-4115 for the cost of reproduction, which charges will not be refundable.

Wage Scale: As required by the Indiana Code, a minimum wage has been determined for this Project and will be included in the Project Bid Documents. Contractor shall pay the minimum wage rates as established by this Wage Scale. Said Wage Scale is a part of this Contract and is incorporated herein.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on December 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m., local time, at Margaret R. Brown Elementary School. Attendance by bidders is optional, but recommended, in order to clarify or answer questions concerning the Drawings and Project Manual for the Project.

Bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The successful Bidders will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of their Contract amount prior to execution of Contracts.

Contractors submitting bids for the performance of any Work as specified in this building Project should make such Bids to Seymour Community Schools. Contractors are advised that the Contract as finally entered into with any successful Bidder will be entered into with the School Corporation.

The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any Bid (or combination of Bids) and to waive any irregularities in bidding. All Bids may be held for a period not to exceed 60 days before awarding contracts.
