Seymour needs sidewalks where people walk
Comments 0 | Recommend 0To the Editor:
I have watched wheelchairs, bicycles and people on foot trying to navigate the busy streets to get around town.
We have sidewalks everywhere except in some of the busiest areas of town.
O’Brien Street on the east side is just an accident waiting to happen, and on East Tipton Street the sidewalk stops at Burkart Boulevard, leaving people to walk in the street to get to Wal-Mart and all the other places east of there.
There’s no access for people on foot to the Jay C Plus area as well.
In the neighborhoods off East Fourth Street, people have to walk on the street to get to stores or to the factories in which they work.
Make Seymour a pedestrian-friendly town and maybe we wouldn’t have as much traffic and could walk to the new White Castle to help burn off what we’ll be eating.
Just maybe people would shop locally more if our town was easier to get around in.
