Oathout installed by Royal Arch Masons
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Stephen T. Oathout of Seymour was installed as Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Indiana during ceremonies at their 164th Annual Convocation held recently at the Marriott East in Indianapolis.
Companion Oathout's Masonic journey began in May 1973 when he was raised a Master Mason at Jackson Lodge 146 in Seymour.
He served as Worshipful Master in 1978 and 1991. He belongs to Seymour York Rite bodies; served Seymour Chapter Royal Arch Masons 85 as High Priest in 1975 and 1979; in 1977 served as Illustrious Master of Seymour Council of Cryptic Masons 38 and Commander of Seymour Commandery Knights Templar 56. He is currently serving as High Priest of the Seymour Chapter Royal Arch Masons.
Other Masonic affiliations include: dual member of Columbus Commandery Knights Templar 14, having marched with their drill team for 16 years; Knight of the York Cross of Honor; Robert O. Woods Priory 62, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis; Marvin L. Isley York Rite College 129; Seymour Chapter 134 Order of Eastern Star; Grand Cross of Color, International Order of Rainbow for Girls; served on the advisory board, Seymour Chapter Order of the DeMolay; Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest; St. Andrew Tabernacle 35; and Yeoman of York, Preceptory 4 Indianapolis.
Oathout is presently serving as Regional Ambassador to the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation.
He was appointed Grand Master of the first Veil in 2002-2003, 2003-2004, and elected Excellent Grand Captain of Host in 2004-2005. He progressed through the line until his election as Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Indiana. He and his Lady Darlene will serve the state in this position for the ensuing year.
The primary charity supported by the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, International, is Royal Arch Research Assistance, which has been the world's leading philanthropy dedicated to helping children with central auditory processing disorders.
