Jackson County chapter of the American Red Cross has moved its service delivery office to the Medora School. Volunteers should sign up there for assignment to a work location.

Free child care offered
Free child care will be provided in Medora by Child Care Network from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday of this week at Medora Pentecostal Church.
Sponsors being sought
Area churches, service organizations and businesses are being sought to sponsor a family through their flood disaster recovery period. If your organization is interested, call Jackson County United Way at 522-5450.
Supply list needs revised
Jackson County United Way has supplied a revised list of items needed from donors. They are:
Long-handled sturdy bristle brushes, N95 Respirator Masks (at Home Depot), Rubber Coated Grab Gloves (at Home Depot), cleaning detergent (Spic and Span), safety goggles, toilet bowl cleaner, bathroom cleaner, toilet paper, paper products (plates, cups, plastic ware, napkins and paper towels), hand soap, hand sanitizer, dish soap, coffee, lemonade, bug spray with DEET.
Donation drop-off locations: Anchor House, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Friday; Brownstown Post Office; Jay C Food Store; Seymour Post Office; Wal-Mart Supercenter.
No mattresses or clothing are needed. If you want to give clothes, go to BridgePointe Goodwill and state that they are for the flood victims, who will receive vouchers for assistance.
Long Term Recovery Committee
Volunteers are needed for a Long-Term Recovery Committee for the areas affected by the flood in Jackson County. The council will be responsible for helping develop the organization's systems in order that, as it becomes operational, it can function effectively as it addresses recovery issues, canvasses recovery needs, assists in the coordination of volunteers, and facilitates case management of long term recovery needs. If you would like to volunteer for this committee, contact Jackson County United Way 522-5450.
