A 17-year-old male was treated for puncture wounds and taken to an Indianapolis hospital for evaluation after an incident reported Saturday night in Jennings County.
Neither the juvenile's name nor condition were available Monday, but the boy was treated by Jennings County Emergency Medical Service before being taken to the emergency room at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon. He was later transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
According to a report from Jennings County police, a 32-year-old North Vernon man faces charges of aggravated battery, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident, reported at 8:52 p.m. Saturday on Willow Way in Country Squire Lakes.
Jarel Haines was booked into the Jennings County Jail in Vernon at 9:50 p.m. and was being held on a $15,100 bond.
The incident was investigated by county officers Kevin Hall and Mark Jeffries and county Reserve Officer Mike Mowery.
