Man charged in attempted rape
Comments 0 | Recommend 0NORTH VERNON - A Westport man was arrested after a report of a sexual incident with a juvenile Thursday evening.
Jennings County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested Preston "Jake" Heath, 45, after an investigation determined that Heath was a suspect in an incident involving a 17-year-old female at the Jennings County Fair.
Heath was detained and taken to the Jennings County Jail in Vernon, where further investigation by an Indiana State Police evidence technician was conducted.
Investigators have charged Heath with attempted rape, sexual deviate conduct and sexual battery.
He was being held on $75,500 bond in the Jennings County Jail.
Investigation was conducted by Detective Sgt. Dave Turner and ISP Technician Mickey Neal.
