Meetings set to help rebuild flooded homes

Two local agencies are organizing an effort to help flood victims rebuild their homes.

Flood victims from Little Acres, Rockford, Cortland, Shieldstown, Honeytown, Slab Road, Medora and any other area of Jackson County who would like help in rebuilding are asked to attend one of two meetings sponsored by Jackson County chapter of the American Red Cross and Jackson County United Way.

The first is set for 8 p.m. Monday at Carr Township Conservation Club in Me-dora, and the second at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cortland Elementary School gym.

Residents must attend one of the meetings to be included in the county rebuilding volunteer effort being organized by the Red Cross and United Way, Ruth Ann Rebber of the United Way said.

All county churches, service clubs, organizations and individuals interested in adopting a family or helping with rebuilding disaster reconstruction must be represented at a community organizational meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the meeting room of the Community Foundation of Jackson County, 107 Community Drive, Seymour.
