UPDATE: 9:15 p.m. Thursday

At 9:15 p.m. Thursday, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department reported additional road closings at 7750 West Indiana 58 and the 7000 block and 5400 block of County Road 600 South.

Two inches of rain locall and rain northeast of Jackson County over the past 24 hours have pushed the East Fork of the White River out of its banks at Seymour.

The weather service has issued a flood warning for Jackson County, anticipating that the river will crest at 16.8 feet late Saturday or early Sunday.

Floodwater has already closed Indiana 235 between Medora and Vallonia as well as 4200 block South County Road 400 East and at 200 North and 975 West, Jackson County Sheriff's Department reported at 12:30 p.m.

Floodwater starts to cross Indiana 258 between Seymour and Cortland at just past 16 feet.

The river was rising from 12.9 feet at noon Thursday, National Weather Service observer Ruth Everhart of Rockford said.

"We had 2 inches at 7 a.m.," Everhart said. That rainfall is what she captured after 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The weather service has issued a flood warning for Jackson County, anticipating that the river will crest at 16.8 feet late Saturday or early Sunday.
