Accused of strangulation, battery and confinement

NORTH VERNON - Police say a Jennings County man was arrested after reportedly strangling a female Tuesday evening.

The arrest came after Jennings County Sheriff's deputies and the Indiana State Police received a report of a female being held at gunpoint on Commiskey Pike.

A report said the deputies arrived on scene and placed Allen Killey, 30, Commiskey, in custody.

The investigation led to the discovery that there was no gun involved. However, a female at the residence sustained injuries to her head, neck and jaw, consistent with being strangled. Police said a very young juvenile was present during the alleged actions.

Killey was transported to the Jennings County Jail and charged with domestic battery, a Class D felony; strangulation, a Class D felony; and criminal confinement with serious bodily injury, a Class B felony.

No. Federal stimulus money is taxpayers' money and shouldn't be spent on a dilapidated bridge that's outlived its usefulness.
