Woman hurt in wreck with trailers, boats
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A 22-year-old Scottsburg woman was hospitalized at Seymour on Friday after she was injured in a wreck at Indiana 250 and Indiana 39 near Tampico.
According to a report Saturday from Jackson County Officer Rick Meyer, Amanda Bannister was treated by medical personnel with Brownstown Fire Department and Jackson County Emergency Medical Services before being taken to Schneck Medical Center after the wreck, reported at 7 p.m. Friday.
Meyer said Bannister was injured after the vehicle she was driving hit two trailers hauling boats head-on after the trailers jack-knifed across the road.
The trailers were being hauled by a 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Russell Robertson of Wake Forest, N.C.
Meyer said Robertson was driving west on Indiana 250 at Indiana 39 while Bannister was driving east on Indiana 250 when the incident occurred.
Meyer said Bannister told police she was unable to avoid the wreck.
Robertson was not injured.
