Leadership projects ready for public view
Comments 0Members of Leadership Jackson County Class of 2009 will present their group projects to the public starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 330 at Jackson County Education Center in Seymour.
As part of the Leadership Jackson County experience, each class member participates in a small group that finds a need in Jackson County and creates a project that addresses that need.
The public is invited to attend the group presentations, which will take place as follows:
9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.: Hope in Troubled Times (Connecting Resources and People), Kelly Franklin of Aisin USA, Andrew Lanam of Jackson County Bank and Debbie Boggess of Community Foundation of Jackson County and Jackson County United Way.
9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.: The Talking Tour of Jackson County (A Guide by Cell Tour with Interesting Facts & Intriguing Folklore of Jackson County), Ben Hudson of Indiana Bank & Trust, Chris Franklin of Seymour Police Department and Melanie Pumphrey of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Love Out Loud (Program for Families at Anchor House), Maricia Gaffney of Jackson County Juvenile Home, Angie Hatton of Centerstone, Christina Hime of Jackson County Public Library and Stephanie Brown of Experience Works.
10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. History - Postcards: Jackson County. Angie Lahrman of Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Susan Bevers of Lorenzo Law Office, Pam Kershner of Schneck Medical Center and LaVeena Rebber of Ivy Tech Community College (presented in memory of their project team member, Allen Varney of Schwarz Pharma).
11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Tutors 4 2-1-1, Lora Kirts of Nunn & Associates, Dawn Williams of Schneck Medical Center, Wanda White of Rose Acre Farms and Amber Hatfield-Owens of Cummins Inc.
